orn in 1787 to Cormeilles, he exchanged from January, 1826 the correspondences with Joseph-Nicéphore Niépce to share their works on the researches for binding of the image of the dark chamber. They accocièrent in them works. Daguerre stops not finalizing the first marketable process which will carry its name, the “Daguerreotype”. The discovery of the revealing agents, and particularly the revealing action of the vapors of mercury, stands out dated the creation of the photography.

Extract of the definitive act resulting from their association (in June 13th, 1837) :

“… Process invented by Mr. Joseph-Nicéphore Niépce, and perfected by Mr L.-J.Daguerre. Then of the communication which it has me to make, Mr Daguerre grants to to give up to the Company formed there vetu of the temporary treaty above told, the new process the inventor of which he is and that he perfected, on condition that this new process will carry the only name of Daguerre, but on condition that he can be published only together with the first process, so that Mr. J.-Nicéphore Niépce’s name always appears as he owes him in this discovery…. “
